Callahan
Lake
This 200 acre lake includes Callahan and Mud Lakes. It is
a drainage lake with stained water and a max. depth of 18
feet. It can be fished for musky, walleye, crappie, bluegill,
pumpmikseed and largemouth bass. This a numbers lake for musky,
but some nicer sized musky can be found. Callahan does support
decent sized largemouth bass and holds its own for panfish
numbers.
Chippewa
Flowage
This
world famous 17,000 plus acre body of water has a max. depth
of 92 feet. With its stained water, numerous islands and bogs,
stumps, snags and other various structure, this lake is a
wonder to fish. Known for producing the world record musky,
it still produces trophy size fish. The Flowage can also be
fished for walleye, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass,
crappie, bluegill, perch, pumpkinseed and also catfish and
sturgeon. This body of water is riddled with bogs and islands
and one can easily get lost on it. We recommend either a good
map and GPS or fishing with a person knowlegable with the
flowage if traveling far from your cabin.
Eau
Claire Lakes
Upper
Eau Claire Lake: This 990 acre body
of clear water reaaches a max. depth of 92 feet. Known for
trophy muskies, large walleyes and nice smallmouth bass, it
can be also fished for northern pike, largemouth bass, as
well as its share of crappie, bluegill and perch. This si
a good all around lake with a little something for everyone.
Middle
Eau Claire Lake: 900 acres, max.
depth of 66 feet, this clear water lake offers much of the
same as it's larger sister with the added benefit of pumpkinseed
as well.
Lower
eau Claire Lake: The smallest of
the three at 800 acres and a max. depth of 56 feet.
Ghost
Lake
This
370 acre darly stained lake has a max. depth of 12 feet. This
quiet lake is great for largemouth bass with a bonus of some
good musky fishing. You will also find walleye, crappie, bluegill,
pumpkinseed and perch in this lake.
Hayward
Lake
This
fun lake has something for everyone. At 247 acres and a max.
depth of 17 feet there is plenty of panfishing for the kids
as well as some musky for the seasoned angler. Also found
on this clear lake are: Northern pike, walleye, large and
smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed and perch.
This is a good family lake that is as easy to fish as it is
to find.
Lac
Courte O'Reilles
With
over 5,000 acres of water this lake is known for it's monster
muskies. This clear lake has a max. depth of 90 feet and it
can be difficult to fish in windy weather. Muskies are not
the only monsters it grows. you can do very well fishing for
walleyes and crappies also. Also found in this lake are: Northern
pike, large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed and
perch.
Lake
Namekagon
This
3,200 acre lake is known for being good walleye waters. It's
stained water and max. depth of 51 feet is also home to the
challenging musky. Also found in this lake are: Northern pike,
walleye, large and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed,
and perch.
Lake
Owen
This
long, narrow, deep, clear lake can be a challenge to fish.
It's that deep (95 feet) and clear. The best time to fish
this 1,300 acre lakes is in the early morning or late afternoon.
This lakes is a great smallmouth bass lake, but also has northern
pike, walleye, largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed
and perch. This is a great lake to fish on windy days. It
has terrific cover and coves that can keep you out of the
wind.
Lost
Land Lake
This
quiet lake is a goos all around lake. Home to a good number
of musky, decent walleye and large and smallmouth bass. This
1,300 acre clear lake has a max. depth of 21 feet and is also
home to sturgeon, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, perch and
carp.
Moose
Lake
This
long 1,600 acre body of water has a max. depth of 30 feet.
A dark stained lake that is home to some fun sized musky with
a few potentail monsters mixed in. Also found in this
lake are: walleye, large and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill,
pumpkinseed and perch.
Nelson
Lake
This
fun family lake is a 2,500 acre light stained lake. Well known
for it's panfishing as well as its potential for trophy sized
walleye. It has a max. depth of 34 feet. Also found in this
lake are musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, crappie,
bluegill, pumpkinseed and perch. This is a good all around
lake with panfishing for the kids and also larger sportfishing
for the seasoned angler.
Round
Lake
Another
great all around lake, this 3,000 acre lake is especially
known for its jumbo perch, but that's noth the only fish this
clear lake can boast about. Walleye and musky hold their own
here also. This clear lake is also home to northern pike,
large and smallmouth bass, trout, bluegill, pumpkinseed and
perch. Its max depth is 70 feet.
Sand
Lake (Sawyer Co.)
This
920 acre lake has a little bit of everything. Good sized musky
with a bonus of good walleye and panfish population including
jumbo perch. This lake is a clear lake with a max. depth of
50 feet. Also found are large and smallmouth bass, crappie,
bluegill and pumpkinseed. Another fun lake with something
for everyone.
Sissabagama
Lake
This
700 acre lake has a nice population of both walleye and musky
as well as stong panfish numbers. This would be a good
family lake with something for everyone. It's a clear lake
with a max. depth of 48 feet. Also found in this lake are:
Large and smallmout bass, crappie, bluegill, pumpinseed and
perch.
Spider
Lake Chain (Sawyer Co.)
This
quiet chain of lakes is a fun lake for an afternoon of musky
hunting. Consisting of five lakes and 1,600 acres it also
hold some nice walleyes and crappies. It is a clear drainage
lake with a max. depth of 64 feet. Also found in this lake
are large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, perch and just for
fun, trout.
