Fishing Report December 22, 2009

We have good ice for the most part with 6 to 10 inches on most lakes. Current areas or main lake areas you will need to check as you go. They are driving ATVs on Center Bay on Grindstone, most of the small alkes and on Musky Bay on LCO. There is about 6 inches of snow on the lakes.

Walleye - Fishing has been excellent with a 32 1/2 inch on LCO released. Lots of 3 to 6 pound fish being caught. Walleye suckers or shiners, using tip-ups in 8 to 15 feet of water. Jigging a Sweedish Piple tipped with a fathead is also working.

Northern - Good, fish the weeds with a shiner or sucker. Lots of good picklers with an occasional bigger fish.

Panfish - Good action, lots of sorting. Crappies fair. Use waxies, spikes, plastics or crappie minnows.
